Premier
Trainer Series
The
Sportwall Trainer Series consists of modular flat
panels that ship in 4' x 8' or 10' modular panels
and can be configured to any size by simply adding
4' panels. The Trainer Series is built of a Forton
MG based composite (fiberglass, balsa and epoxy
reinforced gypsum) which provides the look and strength
of concrete without the weight or the brittleness.
Post installation these systems are filled with
sand to provide the density and mass of a concrete
wall. With zero expansion and contraction-taking
place in the panels, the Trainer Series is highly
equipped to withstand any weather conditions.
This system responds with exceptionally
quiet, deep natural returns which allows players
to improve their form and avoid developing bad habits.
Let fun and excitement take over practice, and experience
a higher level of mastery in your game.

Points to Consider When
Buying a Backboard
1.
Performance: Some backboards can work counter
to good form because they vibrate too much when
the ball hits them. This causes the backboard to
be too noisy and the speed of the ball is lost when
the energy of the ball is converted into noise.
2. Maintenance and Longevity: Plywood backboards
require high maintenance. The vibration from the
ball can be so intense that the screws or nails
can work loose in a very short period of time. They
also suffer from extreme weather conditions. Most
commercially made backboards have been weather-proofed
to some degree.
3. Noise Level: If you live
in a noise sensitive environment, try a sand filled
backboard, reinforced concrete, or concrete block.
They meet most noise ordinance requirements.
4. Color: Some backboards are
made of a particular pigmented color (fiberglass)
which cannot be changed. Others can be painted to
the color of your choice.
5. All Weather Friendly: Check
weather and wind velocity requirements in your area
and make sure the backboard you choose meets those
requirements. The heavier or more solid the backboard,
the more wind resistant it will be. Concrete or
sand filled systems are best in high wind areas.
6. Vandal Proof: Some backboards
are more susceptible to theft and vandalism than
others. Check with the supplier if your location
is subject to vandalism, graffiti or theft.
7. Profit Center: Can the backboard
pay for itself and be used as a fundraiser
or revenue earner?
Although more expensive, the computerized backboards
can pay for themselves in around three months if
used as a profit center.
8. Shape of the Backboard:
Today backboards come in various shapes and sizes.
Most manufactured systems ship in 4' x 8' or 4'
x 10' modular panels that can be configured to any
size simply by adding 4' panels. These modular systems
are shaped either flat or curved vertically and
can be installed vertically or with a slight back-slope
to facilitate a more natural return from the backboard,
i.e. the back-slope provides a deeper return with
a more natural lift similar to the return off a
racquet. Parabolic backboards are curved both horizontally
and vertically to keep the ball in the playing area
and to facilitate cross-court play. One manufacturer
includes a series of gentle indentations in one
of their parabolic models to ensure sufficient movement
within the controlled playing area to develop footwork
and competitive skills.
